Futures Abundant: Exhibition at Martha Street Studio, Winnipeg MB 2021. Works 2018-2020

Futures Barren / Futures Abundant brings together printmaking, print media & video projection to build a connection between the regenerative qualities of plants through propagation from clippings, the generosity of the printmaking medium via the multiple, and the potential for humans to understand themselves as a multiple and regenerative part of a much greater and abundant whole. Contrasting transparent and translucent materials to stack up images, screens, and texts; Futures Barren / Futures Abundant as a body of work questions ways of seeing and highlights feelings of separateness and isolation from the natural world caused by a rampantly increasing screen-based culture. Pointing to the constant mediation of images in contemporary society and an understanding of our world and our relationship to it as existing through screens, Futures Barren / Futures Abundant offers a poetic escape while playfully engaging with image mediation.
